Grand Central District Association will kick off 4th of July week with a festive day of

fun, shopping and entertaining events for the entire family.  And when we say entire

family, we mean it. 


It will be the 2nd Annual Doggie Pageant here in Grand Central, for the furriest four-

legged member(s) of the family to join in and walk down the red carpet for prizes. 

Proceeds are benefiting the Tampa Bay SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to

Animals).


For those who prefer their dogs on a bun instead of all fours, there will be more than

enough opportunity to satisfy your taste buds, including St. Petersburg's very own hot

dog eating contest sponsored by Vienna Beef.  Now the participants may not be

household names in the world of competitive eating, but don't be surprised if you

recognize a few....


Now what would Hogs n' Dogs be without some Hogs?  The Red Knight's Motorcycle

Club, made up of active and retire fire fighters, will have some eye-catching bikes on

display.


And make sure before you leave that you enjoy a cold, refreshing lemonade from

Alex's Lemonade Stand, with proceeds going to benefit children's cancer research.
