Restaurants of the Grand Central District want your help to determine who serves the best burger. During the month of August, consumers will be able to dine at the participating restaurants to taste the entries and then vote online for their favorite. In addition, a panel of celebrity judges will score each burger to determine the winner of the Judges’ Choice.
*Beak’s St. Pete (2451 Central Ave),”Becco Burger”: 2 4oz. Italian Sausage and Sirloin blended Burger Patties served on a Hoagie style roll topped with fried pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and a fresh Italian herbed mayo
*The Burg Bar & Grill (1752 Central Ave),”The Burg”: Topped with gyro meat, grilled feta, mom’s homemade tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions. Served with natural cut fries.
*Craftsman House Gallery & Café (2955 Central Ave),”Bungalow Burger”: A veggie burger consisting of flavorable garbanzo beans,quinoa, zucchini, pumpkin, corn, & spices, laying on a bed of spinach. Topped with tomatoes, onions, & a curry tzatziki sauce. All served on a butter croissant.
*Georgie’s Alibi (3100 3rd Ave N),”Lucky 13″: In-house ground Angus beef, stuffed with real cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, grilled up with more cheddar. Topped with more bacon, house-made Sea Dog beer-flavored onion crisps, a touch of Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, crunchy dill pickle chips and a smear of kicked up ‘Georgie’s’ sauce. Served on a classic bun with tots or fries.
*Mayster’s Café (2444 Central Ave),”Benedict Burger”: 1/4 pound ground Angus patty, with cured ham, a soft poached egg, and topped with our fresh Hollandaise sauce on a toasted sesame bun.
*Urban Brew and BBQ (1930 Central Ave), “SML Burger”: (Smoked Meatloaf Burger) 50/50 mixture of ground pork and beef lattice wrapped in bacon with ground oatmeal (GLUTEN free!), house BBQ sauce and seasonings and hickory smoked on a fresh Kaiser roll with coleslaw on top – this ain’t your Momma’s meatloaf!
